Hello team,
I’m pleased and proud to share that Retail Annuities will be running a St. Jude’s drive this holiday season, and Marketing has been assigned with donating the following items:
- Knit caps (not handmade) – all sizes
- Backpacks – all sizes
- Ear strap extenders/ear protector for masks
- Books – board, coloring activity
- Journals
- Puzzles – all ages
We’d like to purchase as many items from the list as possible. Since these items are given year-round on St. Jude’s “Happy Carts,” we can purchase multiple items. We will come together on December 19th in the Madison North and South rooms for lunch and to present these gifts to a St. Jude’s representative. Please note that we will not be wrapping the gifts.
Rina has designated a box in Alyssa's old office to store the purchased items.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and mark your calendar for the gifting at lunch on 12/19!
Let’s show these deserving recipients how much we care, and thank you for your support.

Hi All:
I shared this LinkedIn but wanted to share it with the team. The attached chart shows how different age groups interact with content formats differently. This chart is from Neil Patel is an expert digital marketer and content creator. I recommend following him on LinkedIn for more interesting insights.
Thanks!

October Shoutouts:
Hi Team:
I would like to share an article that appeared internally at Franklin Templeton. Their custom model portfolio variable insurance trusts managed and distributed in partnership with NYL passed the $5 billion milestone at the end of August. They were excited about reaching this milestone!

"We make annuities easy" video and landing page
Thank Rayna and Jeff for coming up with an awesome video and Mike for developing the messaging on our landing page!
Hi Team:
Over the last several months, we’ve been working with the analytics team to create a firm partner dashboard. We are excited to share it as it helps support our goals to create more efficiency and continue to build strong partnerships with our firms. The dashboard is a Tableau report that provides a snapshot of key attributes at a firm level. It provides the RA team with several benefits:
- Delivers key firm metrics, including sales by product and NYL ranking, to the RA team and our firm partners through clear and timely reports.
- Creates efficiency by streamlining report creation for the RMs, ensuring they have the necessary data for firm meetings.
- Replaces the existing, lengthy firm partner deck with a more efficient reporting solution.
- Provides the RA team with a sales overview, offering a quick snapshot of firm activity and an easy way to identify opportunities at firms.
In addition to the standard sales metrics, the dashboard includes additional information:
- Top selling producers at firms
- Interaction data – Meeting/call information and products discussed
- Sales by territory
We will be adding a link to our marketing hub.
Click here to access the dashboard.
We hope that you find the tool helpful! If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Growth Mindset Webinar
"As part of the professional development series, New York Life offered an insightful webinar titled, Growth Mindset. People with a growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed to their fullest through dedication and hard work. Brains and natural talent are just the starting point, and we all possess infinite potential to learn, grow and improve. They have an internal locus of control and feel like the most important player in their own lives: they MAKE things happen. This mindset produces a love of learning and the drive to perpetually work towards personal growth and improvement. Read the PDF for an overview of the webinar and actions you can take to develop a growth mindset."

Cultivating a Growth Mindset
"I recently attended a NYL training on “Cultivating a Growth Mindset.” I found it helpful to shake myself out of a “Fixed Mindset” and think more about pivoting to a “Growth Mindset.”
I found this chart from the course handout useful as I’m guilty of having said or thought everything shown as fixed mindset on the left. The options given for the growth mindset is where I’m focusing my energies."

Family fun from Patti!
"Marley happily started 5th grade a couple of weeks ago (shown here with her BFF Leon) and we celebrated her 10th birthday with family and a pool party with her friends. Now that it’s Fall, she will start swimming and playing cello again as well as frolicking in the leaves with Leon."
Happy 15th anniversary to Jen Rhatigan and her husband, Matt!
"We had the BEST anniversary road tripping our way through the Midwest. We had a quick overnight in Pittsburgh for some steel city fun – Pirates game, Primanti Bros, Warhol museum. Then we were off to South Bend for Notre Dame’s home opener. Here are a few snaps from the ND part of the trip. Go Irish! "
It’s back to school season for the Bender kids (Mom is happy)!
Hayesly (8) is starting 3rd grade and Quinn (4) has one more year of Pre-K before big-kid school starts. They’ll be playing soccer and lacrosse in the fall, and chasing their new(ish) puppy through the leaves. It goes fast!
Back to school looks a little different for the Rentz kids.
Emily has started her teaching career as a social studies teacher in Fairfield, CT. As you can see from this pic of her room, she is leading with kindness and encouragement. Ethan is back at the University of Maryland for his junior year to continue studying Mechanical Engineering. His side hustle is working with a team to get the Wind”terpines” club off the ground. Here’s the logo the team designed. Go Terps!
Exciting news! Jeff and his wife Dani are excited to announce that they are having a baby boy at the end of December. He is currently training to be a junior designer in the womb.
"I am so excited for this site!!! Amazing job on our new Marketing Hub by Tamika and Doug. They’ve built a place for us to access information, collect new and creative ideas to test, post our accomplishments, give a few high fives, broadcast exciting personal events, post pictures, and most importantly - stay connected as a Team. Let’s use this Hub to celebrate our achievements and each other. Visit often...I know I will!"
